Risøy-Gateway to Symbiosis

Risøy suffers from the needs of actions in regenerating architectural and environmental qualities of this island. These combine the old and current trajectories of this island, dating back to Viking eras. Its intrinsic values are incorporated in the strategies. It advocates for a symbiotic harmony of what belongs to the island. This project is three-phased, organized in timely manners. Due to the scope of interventions this project requires bottom-up strategies. Each phase will be implemented with respective manuals, consisting of 30 kit-of-parts strategies. Each strategy is designed to cover historical, ecological, and architectural needs according to the premise of the project. Symbiosis. The round geometry stems from herring, one of the known symbols of Risøy. The drawing styles from Nikolai Astrup, a Norwegian Artist, help regenerate the identity of Risøy.
