Due to the physical and mental separation of civil society and industrial activity, the growing need for economic values overshadows the equally important cultural, social, and environmental values on the island. In the decades to come, the island will undergo major changes due to energy transitions, climate adaptation, mobility, nature inclusiveness and socio-economic relationships.

RE-SØY investigates how these transitions can spatially land within Risøy and can contribute to an economically and socially sustainable island.vThe government can influence and accelerate transitions, but ultimately transitions start in the heart of the society. We propose three transitions that will help local authorities, the city government as well as other stakeholders to humanize the island step by step.
