Project:
MMV - modern museum velarium
JT150 - TRONDHEIM MMV - MODERN MUSEUM VELARIUM
The site holds a sense of transience as a liminal space, from parking to the old office and court. Our proposal preserves the liminality by blurring boundaries between museum–square and city–intervention. The opening of the functions to the public space, creates a movement flow on the ground, through the central square. A perforated metal veil along the façades conceals and reveals functions, intensifying the passerby's voyeuristic desire. Secondary uses are exposed, while exhibitions remain hidden. The building is composed of three volumes: the first and smallest hosts the main entrance and offices, the second contains permanent exhibitions accessed via an extended bridge, and the third houses the auditorium and temporary shows, with a secondary entrance allowing independent operation.
