Project:
MATER
RZ456 - TRONDHEIM MATER
MATER unites two museums in a new, low-key museum block rooted in Trondheim’s history and typologies. Inspired by the Trønderlån and Trønderlåve, it reuses an underground parking structure for exhibitions, freeing space above for a timber courtyard complex. The garden forms the museum’s heart—open, calm, and connected. With robust reuse, flexible use, and a red thread linking past and present, MATER becomes a quiet landmark for art and community.
