ZQ222 - TRONDHEIM LEÜTENHAVEN KULTURTORG
Driven by access, flexibility and transparency this proposal studies a potential culture square with an open museum next to a new neighbouring institution. The museum keeps an accessible entrance floor with a small portion of everything. Anyone should be able to enter the museum and get a piece of all its functions. One challenge of this design task is the relationship between a desire for extroverted, transparent spaces contrasting a need for UV protection, stable interior climates and security. The museum mass is thus distributed as a base and a tower. The base is glazed and permeable with extroverted functions and a strong relationship between inside and outside. The tower is covered in wood panels and houses the major part of the exhibition spaces. It has a more secluded character, given the exhibition needs. The museum is crowned with a roof terrace.
