Innovative vitality

Our project illustrates a long-term vision for the development of Risøy into a thriving, vibrant new community based on the latent potentials of the neighbourhood. Our project timelines are separated into two-level approaches targeting different scales of interventions. Larger infrastructure projects are complemented by early testbedding projects to garner interest and gradually evolve the urban fabric. In each of the five key areas we present a set of strategies to kick-start the development as early as tomorrow.The interventions are adapted to being built by the community, reusing discarded materials and improvising new concepts. These strategies, alongside the greater vision, prepare the people of Risøy to learn, make, commercialize, enjoy, share, play and grow further as a community
