Land Ahoy! With that yell, the sailors throughout history have warned the rest of the crew of the sighting of the mainland. The proposal appropriates this call and makes it their own, Green Ahoy! Welcome to the Risøy of the future!The proposal for Risøy is based on ancient nautical charts and maps found on the original island between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A trip by boat to the era of the rise of Impressionism is promoted and, in this way, through memory, paint and draw the future of the island.Risøy has been during the last centuries a strategic and fundamental point of the relation between the nautical and shipping industry and the sea itself. This relationship has been kept in balance with the domestic and commercial use that has been produced organically as the demands demanded. Now the island of Risøy is transformed from the industry into a great garden.
