EI734 - ROA FULL HOUSE
Situated just beyond the booming metropolitan real estate market, the status of Roa as the stagnating village “just a little too far away” from Oslo calls for a decisive response. This project is a strategic call for collaboration and local initiative to build a more sustainable, dynamic, and affordable future. With the relatively high percentage of homeownership in Norway, Roa’s single family homes are a potential source of capital that can be used for investment. Full House is a challenge speculative development dynamics with a planning strategy that systematically releases capital with an aim to finance collaborative developments. A specific model of construction, that builds on existing resources in the community, it is a proposal for a cohesive urban-architectural strategy to address the needs of Roa and the future development of Frøystad.
