Project:
Culture square
OT075 - TRONDHEIM CULTURE SQUARE
Our proposal for the new art museum at Leüthenhaven envisions more than a building. With this project, we want to use the existing structures to define a new culture square that gives back to the public. The site has untapped potential, characterized by a parking lot and fragmented pedestrian flow; this part of Midtbyen calls for revitalization. By introducing two freestanding buildings and one infill, all linked below ground through the existing parking garage, the square is freed up for public use. The planned expansion of Trøndelag Theater and other cultural/educational actors are integrated in the planning.
