Becoming Risøy

The masterplan aims to reactivate the town with a step-by-step strategy. The project considers three main areas to improve the whole island. 1°- “Green Heart”: The central residential area can be upgraded in a green central car-less urban space by activating a pilot project of urban regeneration to increase the attractiveness of Risoy. 2°- Main connection boulevard: The pedestrianization of the bridge is consequent to the introduction of the new mobility system with the implementation of the “main connection boulevard” on the cliff barrier. The bridge can be upgraded in a space to enjoy and gather. 3°- Waterfront esplanade: The waterfronts between Risoy and Haugesund are considered as a whole space, where the water with its activities, related to the sea, is the public space.
