JS274 - TRONDHEIM WOVEN COMMONS
The New Museum for Art and Design in Trondheim represents a radical revolution in cultural institutions. Merging the Art Museum and Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum, "The Woven Commons" weaves together museum and city, culture and everyday life, tradition and innovation. It's a living laboratory of urban transformation that operates through culture to reactivate the city's fabric. The project proposes a museum as cultural and social infrastructure that doesn't merely host art, but generates, transforms and shares it. A dynamic organism breaking with static traditional institutions, engaging university, theater, communities and citizens in continuous co-creation to build a more connected, creative and inclusive Trondheim.
