Tesserae
QJ431 - TRONDHEIM TESSERAE
This proposal envisions the new museum as a generous, open cultural framework – rhizomatic in structure, fluid in use, and adaptive over time. Rather than a static object, the museum is conceived as a living system that interlaces public life, art, and architecture. Three elements define the proposal: the public square, the tesserae spaces, and the rooftop museum sculpture garden. The layout is set to enable a porous approach between the cultural institution and the visitors, practitioners and collaborating actors. The modularity of the layout promotes an architectural and thematic balance between separation and combination. The balance and the need for both of these aspects stems from the understanding of the museum’s diverse collection.
