Project:
Museum as a garden
DJ586 - TRONDHEIM MUSEUM AS A GARDEN
A new city block with an open interior space, shared square and street park in this dense part of the city. The museum is a garden: a place to explore and experience the ever changing life through the seasons, a place to revisit. As in a garden, you can roam free, read a book, eat an apple or look at something beautiful. The visitor is welcomed by the generous entrance garden - an atrium space with no obvious purpose and therefore so luxurious. In a large space you are inspired to think big! The entrance garden also serves as communication both vertically and diagonally between the museum, library and cafe, connecting north and east entrances. Designed for special events, installations, gatherings and swapping exhibitions this large space is in constant movement, no day here will be the same.
