Project:
Library of things
The Library of Things will unlock the potential of the Wooden Town and nurture the environment of Levanger. The desire for a new library is a catalyst for transformation which reinforces and builds upon existing networks and resources. It is a new piece of public infrastructure: a venue for community organising, a facility for managing the occupancy of underused courtyards and buildings, and for lending tools and equipment. It creates new possibilities in the use of vacant spaces. An accessible, enriched public realm links to a green corridor formed from respectful renewal of the Park Axis, a botanic garden and self-sufficient cafe, and a Railway Park. Together these reduce car dependency, promote a unique, vibrant lifestyle and restore the town’s relationship to the river and countryside.
