Juletre

AI696 - TRONDHEIM JULETRE
Juletre transforms a former car park in Trondheim’s Midtbyen into a vibrant cultural hub uniting the Trondheim Art Museum and Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum. It creates a new public square framed by museums, theatre, and landscape, promoting sustainable mobility and social accessibility. A key feature is a permeable arcade inspired by Trondheim’s intimate Veitene streets, linking the square and theatre while showcasing museum life. The design includes a monumental subterranean hall, sustainable timber construction, and flexible outdoor pavilions. Juletre fosters cultural engagement beyond museum walls, reuses former museum sites as creative hubs, and positions Trondheim as a forward-thinking city blending heritage, art, and public life.
