Double Loop

Green, ecologically diverse corridors shape and organise the settlement structure of Fagerstrand. A dense network of cycling and walking infrastructure interconnects the fragmented village. An alternative innovative public transport system (carpools, mobile institutions, collective shuttles) organised in loops connects Fagerstrand to the greater Oslo area to reduce its dependency of individual transportation. Further it provides access to all day to day needs and creates new services. New, resilient residential neighbourhoods are developed to enhance a diverse, denser, housing typology. At the seaside the industrial heritage is revitalised and repurposed. Ecological and environmental values are intensified in metabolic loops and intertwine with climate active building structures.
