Common ground(s)
GQ180 - ROA COMMON GROUND(S)
The project reactivates Roa’s latent potential by weaving together architecture, landscape, and community life. A soft green fabric replaces asphalt, linking public thresholds shared gardens, and existing and new sports facilities through a seasonal loop. New buildings densify and activate the public space, using an “inside-out” architectural approach: cafés, clinics, and communal programs open directly onto public space. These ground floors become extensions of civic life. Calm paths connect clusters at a human pace, offering spaces for all generations. Axed on well-being and intergenerational exchange, the project acts as a common ground that nurtures social ties, offering spaces for everyday life and inclusive encounters — a framework for re-sourcing through ways of life and inclusivity.
