Project:
Brighthood

Bighthood defines a new settlement pattern in which the way of living is strictly connected to the natural surrounding environment, to the urban context, to the infrastructural network and the local economies.

Bighthood defines a new settlement pattern in which the way of living is strictly connected to the natural surrounding environment, to the urban context, to the infrastructural network and the local economies. Bighthood develops a shared habitat in which the patterns of associations - relationships between inhabitants - can be triggered spontaneously thanks to the architecture development. The bends of the Storelva river suggest the concept principle of the project and become containers for diversified housing types, services and common spaces and promote aggregation and mobility of people. BighthOOd uses the four natural elements sun, air, earth and water as design pretexts to build clusters of eco-sustainable buildings in balance with the territory, including agricultural ones.
