Project:
Back to the future
"Back to the Future" aims to revitalise and restore Levanger's metabolism through a participatory process based on three multi-scalar strategies. It proposes a slow and participatory urban and landscape process based on human and non-human needs. We propose a "matrix as a tool" which creates "five follies" with recycled wood as "reactivators" to regenerate the park axis and urban infills without disturbing the existing. At the urban scale we propose a "superblock" strategy with an ecological green corridor connecting the historic centre with the Levanger river. Connected to the cultural heritage, the new eco-mobility and the reactivation of the park axis, we designed a new wooden library as a meeting place open to the Levanger landscape and its timber built environment.
