Soon in Hjertelia the difference between the countryside and the city will fade. All will become suburbia, feed by the Norwegian dream of living in nature.How can one live in nature, still being in the city? What could be a sustainable alterna-tive to the typical Norwegian detached house? How can wild nature blend and co-exist in a suburban area? A Whiff of Pine, a Hint of Moose is a new kind of suburbia, where landscape is not only a decor but has its productivity, where the community meet all other forms of living. Here, density and biodiversity are both improved, local and on-site resources employed to construct buildings that have location-specific and environmentally superior qualities.Could this new urban countryside suburbia become one day a guideline of a new sus-tainable urban era?
