Grensen lies at the crossing several important axis of Trondheim yet it
is never the ending point of the journey. By repurposing the
neighbourhood not as a part of the axis but as a new stop, where
students, sta!, citizens of Trondheim and everybody else meet, discuss
and develop how our future looks like, Grensen becomes a new social
and cultural hub: a living laboratory of the future. Grensen should not
only become a new meeting point for everybody but a true place of
experimentation that evolves in response to the ever-changing
surroundings. It should not be considered as a result but as a process
and a tool. These ideas are translated into architectural interventions
from new constructions to the minor interventions in the existing
material and all activated by a multitude of actors.
