E9 Continues: The new Grorud Centre!

The Europan 9 winners in Oslo, Berlin-based architects SMAQ, has presented new illustrations for Grorud centre.

Europan 9 winners at Venice Biennale

Two of the wining teams in Norway are presented at the 11th Architecture Biennale in Venice. Winners in Trondheim, Murado Elvira, is presented along with 14 other emerging architects at the Spanish pavilion.

Winner in Oslo, SMAQ, was presented in the section S1ngletown in the main exhibition "Out there- architecture beyond building" curated by Aron Betsky. SMAQ’s project Cumulus for Oslo is featured in the German Biennale Catalogue "Updating Germany" edited by Friedrich von Borries and Matthias Böttger.

The two teams are currently in the process of implementing their winning proposals in Norway.


Europan lectures at AHO

The Oslo School of Architecture and Design will have three Europan lectures in April.

9th of April 14h: Runner-up in Lillestrøm, Jesus Mateo, Spain

Introduction by Lillestrøm Municipality

10th of April 10h: Winner in Oslo, Sabine Muller from SMAQ, Germany.

Introduction by Oslo Municipality

23rd of April 13h: The Norwegian winners in Sion and Prague.

EBY believes in Cumulus implementation

Senior Consultant in EBY (The Agency for Urban Renewal and Real Estate, City of Oslo) Ingar Hjelmberg signaled a strong will to go forth with the plans for Grorud senter at a seminar held by Oslo Bolig og byplanforening 11th of March in Oslo. Hjelmberg expressed strong belief in many of the aspects of the Cumulus project designed by German office SMAQ. The Europan site is strategic in the development plans for the vast Grorud area in Oslo.
